Petits Amours
I am DYING over this gorgeous, colorful engagement party over at Design*Sponge. It makes me want to throw someone a party right this second. Or maybe have one for myself? I think a good party is in order.
Les Casseroles
If you aren’t from Montreal, you may have heard that many CEGEP (College) and University students have been on strike for months fighting against the governments plan to raise tuition fees. On Friday May 18th, the Quebec government passed an emergency law (Bill 78) restricting the freedom to protest, picket and assemble. The most recent form of protestation has appeared in the form of banging on pots and pans (les casseroles) every night at 8pm for approximately 15 minutes (15 minutes too long in the opinion of many).
I am not one to make political statements online, especially not here where I like to live in a land of happiness and pretty things. Even on Facebook I avoid commenting on status that I know are going to lead to or cause more pointless arguments. But I had to post this video.
The situation has been portrayed mostly in a negative light and when I came accross this, I saw nothing but beauty. Despite the chaos, I am still proud of my province and I am proud to see people of all ages come together in this way, for a cause they believe in. And this video made me feel all fuzzy.
What can I say, I’m a romantic.
Oh my god. Am I a million years behind? Because I just discovered Mayer Hawthorne and I am in loooooove. Especially with this song and video. And the fact that he features some lovely ladies who are dancing cute sexy jazz and not overtly sexual, booty grinding hip hop for once. It’s like watching my dance routines from 5 years ago! And the ridiculously catchy song! I need to get this album stat.

After last weekends insanity I am happy to do nothing but relax and enjoy the sun this weekend. My only plans involve a picnic on the mountain with my favourite people, and that’s all I really need.
Happy weekend everyone!

It might only be a short train ride away, but unbelievably, before this weekend I had never actually left the hotel on my few visits to Toronto. They were solely for dance competitions and dance competitions only, with little time for anything else. So this weekend I tagged along for James gig and we stayed with a close friend. A stunning weekend filled with laughs!
1. The skyline as seen from Greektown.
2. Red. Velvet. Cake. Ice. Cream. SERIOUSLY.
3. James and I being hipsters in yuppie Yorkville.
4. A little tire mishap.
